PLC Charter Schools provide tuition-free education to all Kindergarten through 8th grade students enrolled at one of our Phoenix area campuses. Early childhood development (pre-kindergarten) programs are also available at some locations. Grade levels served at any particular campus may vary. PLC Charter Schools offer an academic curriculum that integrates music, dance, drama, and the visual arts. Enhancing instruction in core subjects using these four fine arts disciplines broadens the appeal of the PLC curriculum to students’ diverse learning needs. This educational model has been proven to increase the effectiveness of the learning process.
PLC Charter Schools is committed to policies that increase student access to education. Such policies include, but are not limited to:
Classroom sizes limited to 25 students per teacher
Early Childhood rooms limited to 13 children
Kindergarten and 1st grade student music classes limited to 15 students per teacher
teaching aides often provided in Kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms
PLC is operating three primary schools and one early childhood development center in the Phoenix metropolitan area:
Academy at Estrella Mountain (AAEM, Tolleson)
Arts Academy at South Mountain (AASM, Phoenix)
Early Childhood Arts Academy (ECAA, Phoenix)
Arts Academy at Scottsdale (AASC in Scottsdale)
During the 2009 – 2010 school year, the primary school campuses carried the Performing Plus, Performing, and Excelling
labels conferred by the Arizona Department of Education.
